The Ministry of Government and Consumer Services invited comments on improving and clarifying the Consumer Reporting Act, so that consumers can benefit from additional tools and protections, and consumer reporting agencies are able to implement the rules effectively. In our comments, we discussed measures that enhance consumers’ access to their credit scores and reports, and discussed issues such as the method used for calculating credit scores, accessing past scores, placing explanatory statements on files, right of action and security freezes.
