Tahira Dawood, Acting General CounselTahira Dawood is the Acting General Counsel at the Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC). Tahira previously worked as a Staff Lawyer, Articling Student, and Policy and Research Analyst at PIAC. She holds a Masters (LL.M.) in Law and Technology from the University of Ottawa, and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of London (International programmes). Before joining PIAC, she volunteered as a Research Analyst at the Samuelson-Glushko Canadian Internet Policy & Public Interest Clinic (CIPPIC) and worked on projects concerning copyright law, privacy, and public policy. She has practiced law abroad, focusing on contracts, corporate law, intellectual property rights, and aviation law. During her free time, she loves to read about food and history. She also enjoys painting and going on long walks in the summer. |

Donna Brady, Office AdministratorDonna Brady joined PIAC in the spring of 1992 as full-time office administrator. Her background is in Business Administration. Previous to joining PIAC, she worked as the Administrative Assistant for a City and Regional Councilor. |

Joshua Fichman-Goldberg, Public Interest Articling FellowJoshua Fichman-Goldberg is PIAC’s articling student for 2025-2026. He graduated from McGill University’s Faculty of Law JD/BCL program in 2023. Prior to law school, he obtained his undergraduate degree from McGill in Middle East Studies. His work experience with community organizations has led him to develop a passion for advocacy at both the individual and policy levels. He is based in Montreal QC. PIAC gratefully acknowledges the Law Foundation of Ontario’s grant to host Joshua, as part of their Public Interest Articling Fellowship (PIAF) program. |
